The checkpoints for Americans, especially going into the US, are the most taxing of any I've encountered. The transit lounges are OK if you can find them (and are traveling business class). What gets me most is the smoking in the terminal -- even though they have designated sections, there seem to be so many more of them, more than even Heathrow.
