Palin… briefly

October 8, 2008 | Filed Under Main, Politics |

Sarah Palin is nothing but one of those “golly-gosh-set-a-spell-have-a-beer-let’s-shoot-somethin’” local bumpkins the either party brings out every few years when they need a gimmick to win. She is an old, well worn political hack-trick who usually has about as much substance as tissue paper. It is extremely cynical and very annoying… but sometimes dangerous. I would refer you all to the classic 1950’s film with Andy Griffith called “A Face In The Crowd”. She is as much “one of us” as Britney Spears. I wouldn’t have either one as an acquaintance… let alone, you know, leader of the Free World.

My friends, she is a mavericky maverick! And she wants to be Prezdent… which is why she doesn’t care what the Vice Prizdent does. [wink!]

I filled out my absentee ballot yesterday and laughed to myself when i saw that she is actually on the ballot. i kept hoping that John McCain had teamed up with Ashton Kutcher and America was the victim of an elaborate episode of Punk’d. Apparently not. She is the worst…

Be careful… we all laughed at Dan Qualye, too.

Well I was only 6 back then so while everyone one else was lauging at Dan Quayle i was laughing at Sesame Street. Sarah Palin will you be my Dan Qualye?

    Two words…empty suit.

Frankly, I want someone smarter than me leading my country. I do not need “Joe Six-Pack” or a “Hockey Mom” leading my country. There are too many nuanced issues throughout the world in our own country requiring a level of wisdom and knowledge that far surpasses that of “golly gosh” crowd.

I also want someone who knows Washington to be my leader. The whole “outside the Beltway” label may make for cheers at rallies but is ill served once elected (see Jimmy Carter - and I like him!). Although I was no fan of Ronald Reagan, he brought in a team that worked the Washington machine. Washington is a machine with certain groups that run it and the sooner we all accept that reality the sooner we will get away from the illusion of an outsider coming in to “shake things up”.

Maybe her style works in Wasilla, but Sarah is falling flat in the lower 48.

But once again, one group comes thru with honesty and integrity…Hockey Fans!!! Palin got the s*** booed out of her when she went to drop the puck at the Ranger/Flyer game in Philly…to quote a friend of mine,”They booed Santa Claus in Philly..I know Santa Claus, he is a friend of mine…and you, Sarah Palin, are no Santa Claus!”

Isn’t she supposed to be a “Hockey Mom”? Or was that a front so no one would call her “trailer trash”?

To say I question her judgement is putting it mildy. A 44 year old woman with four children who is governor of a HUGE state should not be having more children! And on top of that she clearly doesn’t even know what is going on under her own roof with her 17 year old daughter.
