For those asking about pictures, I am going to try and set up a Flickr account for all my Dubai pictures.
As for Kuwait, there really is nothing to see yet. I am in a hotel in what is called the Kuwait Free Trade Zone. It is basically an industrial park. Seen one – seen ‘em all. This little wedge of cars and concrete is squished between a university (somewhere beyond those walls…) and the one of Kuwait’s ports. I’ve watched as big cargo ships pull in and large trailer trucks of cars and sheep roll out. But not together. The cars and sheep…
If I get to stay in one of the apartments I saw, then there will be plenty to look at. Once you get toward civilization, it may indeed look like Beirut… just without the gunfire.

Just visited your blog for the first time since you made the leap. Glad to hear you’re acclimating though I wonder if you’re beginning to contemplate the risk/reward scenario in acquiring black market hooch. (Can I write that or are you being *sh* monitored *sh*?) How’s your bandwidth, would you like some mp3’s?

Glad you came to visit. Though I’m not really looking to the black market yet, I can’t wait to get into my own place and start the wine making process. Fermentation is a wonderful and organic thing.
If you’ve got some tunes, please send them. It generally takes about 40 minutes to download anything here in the hotel - but I’ve got nothing but time…
