Yes, it is incredibly sad that our daytime TV crap oozes around the world. There is no reason for any innocents to have to suffer through “Dr. Phil”, “The View” or “Rachel Ray”. However, it IS a good time to see Cartoon Network in other parts of the world. You can’t imagine how bizarre it is to watch Courage, The Cowardly Dog dubbed into Arabic.
Also - new definition: Clubs bands should no longer be called “cover” bands. They are “copy” bands. A “cover” band suggests that the group is doing a version of a well known song. With modern technology what it is, the band I saw last night merely copied the song note for note with little or no variation. Therefore - a “copy” band. (However - they were still very good.)
Remember - you heard it here first…

Remember the Rancid song, “Ghost Band”? That’s what they called “copy” bands playing their songs poorly. And I don’t know if I would rather be hanging out in the Dubai “Dugout” or dealing with these insipid morons I call NCC students trying to register for the Spring? I actually had a student tell me after registering that he was going to the bank to apply for a credit card so he could pay for his classes. Talk about planning for your education!
Speaking of fun things to watch.Last night I stayed up way too late watching episodes of “The Beer Hunter”… Once you get past those suits from the eighties the series is quite entertaining and informative. I have four episodes saved to my hard-drive. Can I email them to you?
