Celebrities

Not that I really care - but I read today where that bastion of stability, Rosie O’Donnell, is saying that Paula Abdul is abusing medication. Now, I have watched ten minutes of Paula’s show and I TOTALLY disagree. She is not drunk or on medication.

She is just bat-shit crazy.

Why does there have to be a expalnation for everything? When did we - as Americans - lose our right to just be nuts?

They lost the right to be nuts when they decided not to add anything of substance to society. If either of them had written Gravity’s Rainbow or were in Fugazi or had directed Raging Bull then they can be as crazy as they would like. Until they do something of value they must continue listen to that glorious melody that is constant public ridicule.

You’ve got a point. Maybe we need a more derogatory word than “nuts”.

Maybe “celebrity” should be a derogatory word.

I agree that celebrity should be a derogatory word. The best use of the word “nuts”? When the Germans asked the general at Bastoine(?) to surrender, his answer was,”Nuts”. And since when is that god-awful singer/dancer or that god-awful talk-show host celebrities anyway? Jenna Jameson is a celebrity. At least she has some “talent”.

They are celebrities because they’re on TV! Heck - even that hack “singer” from Poison is a celebrity (in the derogatory sense). He has a show where hookers vie to have sex with him. And they are hookers because they are paid to let him touch them. Though - those hookers are much better the the “Girls Of The Point” who try to have sex with Flav. I have to spray the screen with Lysol after watching that (tho it is mostly because of Flav).

So, have you heard “Powder Burns” yet?

No not yet. I have to try and find it at my local record store. Maybe this weekend if I can get 5 free minutes. Golfing tomorrow and Mom is coming over with the cat on Sunday to see how he likes my house for the week I have to watch him.
