Added to iPod

Not much. I haven’t had the time and work is sucking the life out of me.

Tori Amos - “American Girl Posse”. Pretty good so far. Heck, there are 26 songs! I’m only halfway through, but Tori is on her game. The songs are strong. “Big Wheel” and “Secret Spell” rock. Drums play a major role in many of the songs. At least this is a lot less fragile than “Beekeeper” - which I didn’t like. No where near “Scarlet’s Walk”, though.

Warren Zevon - “Stand In The Fire(Live)” and “The Envoy”. The late and great. I miss Warren. It was always good to know he was out there someplace. I miss him and Hunter and Joe Strummer. Don’t know what I’d do if anything happened to Neil Young or Tom Waits. They are touchstones. Anyway, this was a find on iTunes. I have the vinyl, but there was never a CD release. It is a great live performance! Warren at the peak of his powers and just a little bit crazy. It’s a riot to hear him re-make “Werewolves Of London” and “Mohammed’s Radio” is just gorgeous. AND the new iTunes version also has four extra songs! Worth every penny.

Warren Zevon’s daughter Ariel lives in Vermont and is opening a farmer’s-type market in Barre, which is about 20 minutes from Waterbury. Crystal is doing a reading from her new book as a benefit, and Jackson Browne is doing TWO benefit concerts first weekend in June. You can touch the love when you come.
