One Obsession
March 28, 2007 | Filed Under Music |
Music. Music is my obsession. I have lots of it and I get new CDs every week. I listen to everything. Therefore, to me - the iPod was a gift from the gods. Actually, I was a bit of a snob about the iPod in the beginning. I snubbed the digital and bought a new turntable for my vinyl. I waxed rhapsodic about the virtues of the gatefold LP. Even a CD had reading material to add to the musical experience.
Ho ho. How can that compare to having a large chunk of your library at your fingertips?? Thanks to the gift of an 80 gig model from my wife and son, I now have 5,600 songs on the iPod. I will reach 6,000 by summer. Not so hard. That is only 40 more albums (give or take). I have that available to me… though it would be much better if some decent NEW music came out but I won’t hold my breath.
So - a regular post will be what I have added to my collection. I will start with last night’s downloads. Enjoy!
Bill Nelson - Quit Dreaming & Get on the Beam
The Shirts - 1st album plus live cut from CBGBs
Steely Dan - Royal Scam
Sneaker Pimps - Becoming Remixed
The Band - Rock of Ages
